Description
A beautiful early 20th-century European chandelier formed from patinated brass and dressed with an abundant array of hand-cut crystal drops. The design is typical of French and Central European (Austrian/Bohemian) chandeliers of the period, with scrolling brass arms, foliate detailing, and a richly layered crystal arrangement.
The chandelier features a varied mix of crystal elements—including rosettes, elongated prisms, faceted drops, and a central crystal ball—each individually cut rather than machine-made. This variation gives the piece depth and a softer, more atmospheric sparkle when lit.
The brass has aged to a warm, even patina that complements the clarity of the crystal and speaks to the quality of the original workmanship. Well balanced and generous in scale, it makes a strong focal point without feeling heavy or overworked.
