Team up and dive into some unforgettable multiplayer action with our
Two-Headed Giant Commander event! Bring a friend—or get paired up
on-site—and battle it out in this fun and strategic team format.
How Two-Headed Giant Commander Works:
Teams of Two: Each team consists of two players. You and your teammate will sit side by side, facing your opponents together.
Shared Life Total: Your team starts with a shared 60 life. Damage to either player reduces the team’s life total.
Turn Order: Teams take their turns together, sharing phases and coordinating plays.
Ban List:
In addition to the standard commander banlist, the following will not be
allowed in this event:
-Extra turn effects,
-Mindslaver effects,
-Heartless Hidetsugu.
Additionally;
this event will only be permitting bracket 3 or lower decks to
participate. Given the recent update to the bracket system some ambiguity has been introduced so we will clarify expectations here:
-The deck will still be allowed 0-3 Game Changers
-Mass Land Denial, including any effect that destroys 3 or more lands and blood moon or back to basic effects, are still not allowed
-Chaining extra turns is not allowed, and extra turn spells are banned above
-The Six turn clock outlined in the new rules will not be strictly adhered to as it is balanced for four person pods with no team dynamics
-Therefore two card infinite combos are expected to have a total mana value of 7 or greater.
Commanders:
Each player brings their own Commander deck (100 cards, singleton,
matching commander color identity). Partners don’t have to share colors
or commanders.
Team Strategy: You manage your own hand, board, and commander, but you can openly communicate and plan with your teammate.
Deck Construction: Standard Commander deckbuilding rules apply.
Infect Rule: A team loses the game if they accumulate 15 poison counters (instead of the usual 10 for a single player).
Round Time: Each round will be 60 minutes.
Proxy Cards: Proxy cards are not permitted for this tournament
